WWO / AHF Family Health Clinic
WWO established the Family Health Clinic (FHC) in 2006 in partnership with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. The Clinic is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
WWO currently is the medical care provider for HIV+ children at 19 orphanages in Addis Ababa, all of whom are seen at the FHC. In addition, families living in the sub-city of Yeka, one of the poorest areas of Addis Ababa, also are served at the Clinic. There is no charge for services.
The Clinic is a comprehensive center for the treatment and continued care of orphans and vulnerable children, and adult family members with HIV/AIDS. In addition, the Family Health Clinic functions to prevent the increase of AIDS orphans by providing medical, social services and peer counseling support for families.
The Clinic includes an on-site pharmacy and testing and laboratory, all staffed by in-country professionals.
