HIV / AIDS Treatment and Training, Ethiopia

WWO was the first NGO to bring HIV/AIDS medication into Ethiopia specifically for orphans (2003). Then we took it a step further – we pioneered pediatric HIV/AIDS training for Ethiopian doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers – so that they could take what they learned back to villages and town all over Ethiopia. To date, more than 400 healthcare professionals have been trained.

• Pioneered pediatric HIV/AIDS training for Vietnamese and Ethiopian doctors, nurses, healthcare providers (more than 400 to date)
• Created the first free-standing HIV/AIDS clinic for orphans in Ethiopia.
