Physical/Occupational Therapy
In July, 2007, WWO sent Dr. Missy Windsor, one of our most widely-traveled and experienced Orphan Rangers, and now a WWO Consultant, to work at the SHERP orphanage for 147 disabled children in Maralal, Kenya. Dr. Windsor, a superb occupational therapist, taught staff how to work with children who had never walked and who were "locked" in fetal positions. Prior to this, Dr. Windsor has worked with orphans in China, Vietnam, and Russia as well as with their caregivers to ensure that simple therapeutic movements continue to help unlock frozen muscles.
